F company is a large international shipyard which has good performance. However, the conflict between the timely delivery and the high cost of inventory management has become an important factor to restrict the development of the company. Cables are looked like vitals of ship equipments, and the cables sourcing is always a twister due to many variable sizes, difficulty for accurately design, long lead time, heavy cash of inventory, and complicated application. Cable distribution costs account for about 10% of procurement costs. As an important material for ship, cable distribution cost has a significant impact on the F company's development. In this paper, based on the analysis F company's cable distribution process, the main research work is carried out as following:Cable is an important ship material, the distribution pattern and the distribution characteristics are closely related. The paper analyzes F company's cable distribution characteristics from several aspects at operation risk, information technology, on time delivery and economics, etc. This paper analyzes F company's current cable distribution processes and compares benefits and disadvantage for three delivery modes——self-distribution models, supplier distribution patterns, the third-party logistics distribution patterns.Paper classify the affection factors of cable distribution model by using principal component analysis method and MATLAB software. Through the factor score of the original sample data analysis, the correlation coefficient matrix of various factors, eigenvalues, variance contribution rate, the cumulative variance contribution rate and the corresponding principal component loads, thus to filter out the main factors affecting composition which is used to form a new target.Paper establishes the cable distribution model's hierarchical structure model and evaluation model by grey analytic hierarchy process. Then it compares the cable distribution patterns of the three pros and cons of sorting, and select a suitable distribution model for F company's.Paper apply third-party logistics model for F company's cable distribution, and compare with past model(supplier distribution model) through related data in order to demonstrate the effectiveness, practicability and economy by third-party logistics and distribution patterns.
