In the past decades, there is a rapid development of chain drugstores in China.However, with the implementation of medical innovation policy and the fierce competitionin the medicine market, the profit level is very low in the pharmaceutical industry. So chaindrugstores in China try their best to improve the earnings by lower the price to stimulatethe demand. Compared with the abroad, drugstores management in China is still placed in alow level. There are many problem such as lacking professionals, not enough service items,drugs sale just depending on marketing measures. Although there are many drugstores inChina which study scale diversification and economy management from foreignmanagement, the applied method doesn't yield notable results, because many questions stillremain to be answered and the competitive advantages aren't formed for drugstores. Thisarticle aims to raise competitive power and the profit level of chain drugstore by using 5Sand lean service, and improving service qualityThis paper expounds the develop status of the chain drugstores in China and the statuscomparison at home and abroad, and analyzes the questions which still remain to beanswered, and then indicate that improving drug service is the development trend of thechain drugstores in our country. The author studies the implement of lean service in thechain drugstores in our country, based on the Lean Thinking systematically. The mainresearch works are as follows: Firstly, it is necessary to get leader supporting and establishthe basic process of enterprises organizational structure with the matched framework ofperformance management mode. Then improving the service level by the optimization ofservice process and field management is used to meet the customers'needs for market gain,improve customer value and obtain customer loyalty. Lastly, this paper describes a retaildrug store which puts the lean thinking into drug management practice. The case stateclearly that lean service and 5S management have important guiding value to practice.The article analyzes the application of lean thinking to the domain of service industry,which is confirmed that it is good for the drug store to improve management status andacquire competitive advantage. Therefore, a development strategy of chain drugstores hasbeen put forward, which could provide an advanced experiences to other similar type ofcorporations.
