A Research On The Relations Among Foreign Trade, FDI And Environment Pollution In Jiangxi Province

During 30 years since the reform and open, china's economy has obtained the rapid development for it profited from the economic globalization and the good influences of international environment, especially the development of the foreign investment and the foreign trade. That the comprehensive competitive power strengthens made the Chinese international status rapidly enhance. While economy is developing at a high speed, the environmental pollution has become an indisputable fact, the relationship between the foreign direct investments and the foreign trades and the environmental pollution has aroused the interests of the international academic circle, and it has became a hot topic, so it obtained thorough researches. With the Central Party Committee and the State Council implement the strategic plan of the rise of the central China and the construction of Lake Poyang ecology economic zone, Jiangxi Province undoubtedly is a province with strong strategic sense. This article has studied the relations between Jiangxi Province's foreign trades and foreign direct investments and the environmental pollution from theory, and used the panel data analysis method to carry out the extended model analysis of the related variable data which reflected the relations between the foreign trades and the foreign direct investments and environmental pollution of Jiangxi province's ten level cities. Because the source of the data is limited, this article has selected the imports and exports totals of Jiangxi Province's ten 1 level cities from 1996 to 2008, FDI and the related data of the emission load of sulphur dioxide on behalf of the degree of the environmental pollution in order to carry out the empirical analysis. According to the result of the analysis, the foreign trade can improve the environment quality of our province, but FDI will worsen our province's environment.The domestic research on the relationship between the domestic related foreign trade, the foreign direct investment and environmental pollution mostly embarks from the whole China, but the literatures on some places are very few, therefore this article will study Jiangxi province as the research object, which is an economical model province where the human and the nature are get along with each other harmoniously with the coordinated unification between the ecological civilization and the development of economy and society, it has certain inspiration to the strategy of the introduction of foreign capital and the development of foreign trade to other areas, especially to the central China.
