| Harbin Bank was established in February 1997, and is a new national joint-stock commercial bank in Harbin. Since established, Harbin Bank has been strengthening internal control mechanisms, innovating financial products and management and increasing effective inputs, so the bank's scale has been expanding, assets quality has been improving, the profits continues to increase, and the social image has been improving. Currently, Harbin Bank has become the important part of the Harbin financial system, and set up a number of branches in Tianjin, Dalian, Chengdu and other cities. But with the changes of external environment, the competition in bank industry has become fiercer and fiercer, so Harbin bank needs new strategy to adapt to the opportunities and challenges. On this condition, Harbin bank urgently needs effective and practical strategy to find opportunities and avoid risks, as well as give full play of own resources to get strategic competitiveness.This paper uses modern strategy theory and basis on the current situation of the bank industry to research development strategy of Harbin Bank to gain competitive advantage. Firstly, sums up the domestic and foreign research fruits about development strategy of bank industry, in order to get ideas about modern strategy management theory and methods for solving the problem of bank development strategy. Secondly, this paper analyzes the external environment of Harbin Bank, including the external macro, industry and competitive environment, so as to find the opportunities and threats. Thirdly, this paper analyzes the internal environment of Harbin Bank, including the resources and abilities, and sums up the strengths and weaknesses. And then, using SWOT analysis to set up Harbin Bank's strategy goals and future development strategy; Finally, through adjusting organizational structure, introducing the assets, and establishing advanced technology management system to implement the strategy. |
