After the concept of the economic zone on the west side of the straits was born, it has to be an important pole of history on the southeast coast of China.Fujian Province ushered a rare historical opportunity for development as the object of the economic zone on the west side of the straits.The development of Fujian Province need the leading of the key city,so the Research of urban of economic region is very important for improving Fujian province's economic strength and promoting the developing of the economic zone on the west side of the straits,also it is a problem which need to be resolved imminencily.Based on previous studies, this paper divide the economic development of Fujian Province since the reform and opening up first,the changing patterns of urban economic effect region of Fujian Province on the various stages of development was also analyzed in this paper.And then calculate the economic linkages of the key cities and all of region base on the division of urban economic effect region, Fujian Province will to be divided into six urban economic region. Finally,in order to optimize urban economic region of Fujian province, this paper put forward Strategies such as promote growthing of key cities, establish economic axis of the coast,harmonious development measures between the coast and the inland mountains according to the spatial pattern and situation of urban economic region in Fujian Province.In order to obtain objective and actual conclusion, this paper use mathematical analysis, GIS spatial analyst, methods of combination qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis.
