A Study On Academia Resource Planning (ARP) Implementation Based On Workflow Techniques

The Background, demand, aim, contents, main functions, whole framework, standard system, application systyem, supporting system, technique requirement, guarantee system, implementing principle, runing mode and processing of Academia Resource Planning (ARP) was discribed in this paper which are actualized in the CAS and its institutes currently.Based on the information management, knowledge management, system management, workflow techniques and business process reengineering (BRP) theory, the framework of Academia Resource Planning (ARP) was discussed with a view to the characteristics of research and management operation in the CAS. The actualized experience and lessons, problems and suggestions of Academia Resource Planning (ARP) were gained through analysising and inducing the actualized whole processing and effect.The main conclusions of this paper include as follow:Academia Resource Planning (ARP) is a powerful tool of treating informtion from delay to moment and a forceful tool of management mode changing from traditional to modern. ARP is the base and core of informationization of CAS and its institutes throuhg which can support important and based information resources. ARP can realized quantificational and refined management for Human resources, research programe, financial affairs, research instrument maintenance and electron management affairs. ARP is an important part of carrying out knowledge management, which can promote the scientific, rationalization and standardization management of CAS and its institutes. ARP can make institutes realized the turnaround from traditional human management to system management, which will greatly increase the work efficiency. All in all, ARP is the embodiment and the result of modern management thought and idea and techniques, which can drive management and mechanism innovation and infusing advanced management ideas for CAS and its institutes. Article end is author's implementation experience on ARP, and thinking done of the future implementation on large-scale in our research organizations.
