The market competition has been increasingly fierce with the development of global economy. The operation management is a key factor in improving enterprise productivity on the world's scale. Thus, how to better meet the needs of market competition through strengthening the operation management has become an outstanding problem on the enterprise survival and development. This thesis is based on practical business problems and focuses on how to build the operation management system for core project in a traditional manufacturing company.The main study object in this thesis is operation management for beverage cooler projects which are DAB's core project. Firstly, the thesis identifies and evaluates problems in project operations mainly from the organizational structure, the operation cycle of the project and the supply chain. Secondly, the thesis puts forward the scientific program of optimization and improvement to establish a set of operation management processes which adapt to seasonal projects.This thesis uses case study method and selects typical cases based on the business practices. After a theoretical study and practical investigation of the company, the study summarizes that the company's irrational operation model is rooted in its functional organization structure and unreasonable project operation cycle. Key supply chain issues are also been concluded on the basis of the project characteristics here. Finally, the thesis returns to practice again. According to the actual business, it puts forward solutions which include to (1) establish project operation management team respectively both at the management level and the staff level; (2) improve the supply chain efficiency by optimizing the project operation cycle; (3) converse the purchasing patterns through implementation of strategic procurement and improvement of inventory management mode; and (4) enhance logistics efficiency by use of RFID technology, off-site storage and multimodal transport.The thesis is guided by domestic and international management science and focuses on establishing an operation management system for business core projects. It uses basic theories of management science and bases on business practice to propose the improved strategy for the operation management system by combining theoretical and practical research methods. At the same time, it discusses optimization of an operation management system for DAB beverage cooler projects, and it also proposes ideas on how to operate projects in the functional organization structure and how to integrate resources to establish the operation management system for seasonal projects. These ideas can not only be used to operate DAB's other projects, but also provide references for the operation management of other companies.
