Lean production and process reengineering theories have resulted in a huge change in enterprises around the globe. As to Chinese companies, in order to establish and maintain their competitiveness, the above theories also have been widely adopted but only few have successfully benefited from them. The two main causes to the above phenomenon are the separate practice of the two theories and lacking of suitable guiding theory project. In this thesis we mainly study the lean production based on process reengineering theory, analyze and design the application system.Through literature investigation on the value chain theory, business process reengineering and lean production theory, we put forward the theory system which is based on the process reengineering of lean production, namely taking lean production as the ultimate goal, using the value chain theory to analyze the existing problems of enterprise value chain and putting forward the value chain reengineering projects, and then forming a new enterprise process system via the process reengineering of the key process, as a result, realizing lean production mode by putting the lean production theory into practice. Based on the theoretical study, we also show some research results after taking the SZ company as an example. Using the comparison analysis and interview method, and combining theory with practice, the SZ company status and existing problems are studied as well as the SZ company lean production application plan design and implementation conditions and security. Through this study, a suitable and practicable project of lean production based on the process reengineering for the SZ company has been obtained.In this thesis, the cycle of value chain analysis-process reengineering-lean production put forward by us, combined with process reengineering research lean production method system may provide a new path and method for enterprises to pursue lean production.
