Logistics Management And Optimization For BD Chemicals Company

With Chemicals industry development in China, people pay more and more attention to chemicals logistics management,the reasons are not only the business is increasing quickly,but also there are some big impacts on people health, safety, environment pollution if some accidents happening during logistics management.This article starts from basic logistics theory like logistics definition, logistics history and related theories of logistics like 'dark continent' etc, then to study last research in logistics and chemicals logistics, the conclusion is the chemicals logistics has itself characters and meanwhile it also has common characters of logistics.As a case study as BD chemical company,one of worldwide famous chemicals companies,we study their whole page of logistics management and get a conclusion that road map of chemicals logistics is to follow sustainable development concept,need to more focus on environment, health and safety.During study, we found some problems in their logistics management, this article tries to use related theories to analyze them, found one of the basic reasons is the logistics management is less in consolidation, in order to solve this problem, try to develop a proposal solution for BD Chemical Company, that is to set up a central logistics warehouse to coordinate most logistics activities. This warehouse not only can provide enough storage space to meet several years storage demand in future, but also can enhance logistics safety, improve productivity and people management.
