R & D Activities Of The Chinese Provinces Empirical Research On The Role Of Economic Growth

From classical growth theory in the 1 770's to neoclassical growth theory in the mid 20 century,then to new growth theory in the late 20 century,during theformation and gradual perfection of endogenous growth theories,economists made agreat progress on the intrinsic reason for the technical progress,and thousands ofstudies on the relationship between R&D and technical progress have sprung up．Theempirical research results revealed the explicit instructions for increasing the role oftechnical progress in economic growth and the argument in favor of policy making．This thesis attempts to establish the panel model on provincial economic datafrom 1 997 to 2008,which are in comparable price,to analysis the roles of R&D andR&D spillovers in economic growth．With the help of the different weights ofspillover effect and regional division standard,we are able to reveal the effect ofR&D activities in economic growth．We finally find that R&D spillovers are moresignificant than R&D itself．Apart from that,we also get the conclusion that the effectof R&D spillovers decrease from east to west,high intensity to low intensity area,butmaterial capital are quite opposite．In other words,the roles of R&D spillovers haveincreased significantly in line with economic growth．Based on the above research conclusions,we think the urgent task on increasingthe role of R&D activities is to increase capital input for independent innovation,while pay more attention to the distribution of the capital input．On the other side,positioning on local conditions is also important to improve independent innovationcapability．According to these targets,we suggest,firstly,increase capital input of thehigh school,and enhance the cooperation between company and high sch001．Secondly,strengthen regional cooperation and communication,and bring along thebackward regions．Thirdly,accelerate the economic transformation,and develop theemerging industry．Fourthly,impo~foreign direct investment,and promoteinternational cooperation and communication．...
