Research On Identification Of Technological Evolution Path Based On Patent Citation Network

Patent as the technological knowledge unit containing abundant information, has more characteristics than scientific papers on the technical level. Combining the factor of time sequence, those relationship formed by patent citation representing the historical development process of technology. The research takes patent citation network as an object and carrier for evolutionary process of technology by means of social network analysis in order to render technological evolution path, and realizes the visualization and recognition technology path.On the basis of the theory, empirical analysis of concrete technology has been carried. Through the access to Ethernet technology patents'attribute and citation data, according to the algorithm designed, mapping patent citation network and recognition technology path, then rendering on technology path map with the help of comprehensive data, realizing display technology development history and identification of possibility and development direction for new technology path. This research forms complicated network from plentiful patent data, using the algorithm and the visualization tool to draw the concise map for technology path. It may provide reliable reference for enterprise technology innovation and makes direction clear to implement the strategy of independent innovation in China, and has important theoretical and practical significance.
