21 st century, mankind has entered the era of knowledge economy. In a knowledge economy, human capital and intangible assets are becoming the enterprise resource focus. Machinery manufacturing industry has begun to develop in the direction of knowledge economy. The workers who bearing knowledge, skills, information, and technology, have become the competition key in a machinery manufacturing industry competition and rational allocation of resources. As the knowledge economy era machinery manufacturing enterprises differ from previous terms in the management objectives, organizational structure, production methods, and because the staff intellectual activity is more difficult to measure, and its performance evaluation is difficult. Therefore, this paper choose knowledge workers performance appraisal in machinery manufacturing which very representative of the current management to conduct in-depth study. Aims to discover the problem points and deficiencies of the employee performance evaluation in machinery manufacturing enterprises points to explore the causes and improve methods and establisht a scientific, applied, highly targeted comprehensive staff performance evaluation system.The system for improving the mechanical manufacturing enterprise knowledge worker enthusiasm for work, machinery manufacturing enterprises to reduce the loss of knowledge workers, so that machinery manufacturing enterprises in market competition to maintain its core competence has important reference value.This article begin from this background, first, integrate machinery manufacturing with knowledge working and defined what is knowledge working,then classify it based on the characteristics of knowledge work to determine the knowledge workers of this study were:research and development, market development and management of these three categories; Subsequently, analysis the mechanical knowledge workers performance form, and combined with the cognitive process of scholars on the meaning of performance, to determine the meaning of knowledge workers-"the result+Attitude+ability to literacy," and initially establish the machinery manufacturing industry knowledge worker performance evaluation index methodology. Then according to maching enterprise knowledge workers actual condition ang working characteristics use Factor Analysis Method to Comprehensive adjust the index methodology. Now there has been a relatively scientific, comprehensive, impartial machinery manufacturing enterprise knowledge workers performance evaluation index system; Then, based on the system, build a knowledge-based employee performance evaluation model. The model use the method of AHP to empower the index system and use Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method to evaluate the machinery manufacturing enterprise knowledge workers performance, last, this thesis use machinery manufacturing enterprise knowledge workers performance comprehensive evaluation model to practice in a machinery manufacturing company and achieved a good result.
