Knowledge Contribution In Electronic Networks Of Practice Form Social Capital Perspective

With the development of information and communication technology, more similar to practice and computer-based social networks are established. In these electronic networks, individuals communicate with other people through the exchange of electronic information. These electronic networks make individuals in different locations can be exposed to new knowledge, share experiences, discuss ideas. These things at the local or in the social network that among individuals'own friends and colleagues are no way to get. This electronic network is defined as the electronic network of practice. Many scholars are interested in electronic network of practice as well as in knowledge management, many people study both sides. But scholars studying knowledge contribution in electronic networks of practice form social capital perspective are rarely less. To fill this gap, we propose a theoretical model and a series of assumptions to explain the relationships between the three dimensions of social capital and knowledge contribution. Model is built on social capital-based on the theory of three dimensions, we use the platform of electronic networks of practice to learn the role of various dimensions of in knowledge contribution process. We build models to show that:in the electronic network of practice, the three dimensions of social capital all impact on knowledge contribution.This thesis basing on theoretical analysis, respectively builds knowledge contribution model from three dimensions in the electronic network of practice, and through the questionnaire collecting data, using empirical methods to explore the relationships among three dimensions of social capital and the electronic network of practice. In this study, we use factor analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis to test and verify the hypotheses and combine empirical analysis and theoretical analysis having the following conclusions:The three dimensions of social capital in electronic network of practice:relationship capital, structural capital, cognitive dimension all have a positive impact on knowledge contribution and knowledge contribution will plays an intermediary role between them. The control action of electronic network of practice development phase is not obvious. The innovation of this thesis has three main points:First, explaining the concept of knowledge contribution. Second, through regression analysis proving that between knowledge contribute behavior and social capital there is a positive relationship. Third, researching that if development stage of the electronic network of practice as a control has the impact on the knowledge contribution behavior in electronic network of practice.
