Study On Impacts Of Farmland Conversion To Economic Development In Hunan

At present, China is working on the acceleration of the process of farmland conversion, the rapid development of farmland conversion speeds up the pace of economic growth in the certain degree, but at the same time, it also produced a series of contradictions and problems, such as social stability, food security and the ecological environment and so on, has severely affected the development of regional economy and social harmony. However, as fast development of industrialization and urbanization of our country, the expansion of the area of farmland conversion also presents the trend of rigid growth. This trend of rapid growth, will naturally cause the imbalanced development between farmland co(?)ersion and regional economic, and the differences of farmland conversion spatial efficiency. And the speed of farmland reducing in some developed areas is more amazing. To the development trend, the fast farmland conversion, on the one hand, is conducive to the short-term growth of regional economy and accelerate the process of China's urbanization, at the same time it also has a good role in promoting industry transformation of the underdeveloped areas and receiving economy radiation of developed city; But, on the other hand, the issues of employment and housing of rural population, and food supply of rural, etc, which are brought by the overquick farmland conversion, will be further deteriorated, and will hinder the development of regional economy and promote the polarization becoming more seriously. So how to make a wise decision in this dilemma of land conversion and economic growth is the key to realize the sustainable development of society.This paper first analyses the background of the relationship between farmland conversion and economic growth, and discusses the purpose and significance of this research, and analysis the current status of domestic and foreign research. This paper summarizes the main methods of this research and the structure and the innovative points. Then it discusses and analyses the relevant theoretical basis of farmland conversion. This part is mainly to define the relevant connotation and definition of farmland conversion and economic growth. Through the relevant theory analysis of farmland conversion and learning from the conclusion and theory of previous research, this paper tries to provide a powerful theoretical support for the research objects. Then it analyses the current status of farmland conversion and the existing problems of farmland conversion in the process of development in Hunan province, and further expounds the development status and trends of farmland conversion and economic growth and industrial structure in Hunan province. Then it is empirical researches about the impacts of farmland conversion to economic growth. In the premise of a series of studies, through the calculation of the contribution of farmland conversion to economic growth, and the statistical studies of development trend of industrial structure adjustment, this paper selects the data of each city in Hunan province, and construct a model of cobb-douglas production function about the impact of farmland conversion to economic growth, to measure the contribution of farmland conversion to economic growth in Hunan province, and measure the differences of farmland conversion spatial efficiency of each city in Hunan province. It analyses the differences of the contribution of farmland conversion to economic between the cities from the space. It also evaluates and analyses the influence of farmland conversion to the industrial structure adjustment from the angle of efficiency of usage of non-agricultural land, and use large statistical data to empirical analyses the two indexes. Finally it summarizes the contents of the study, and draws the conclusion. Then it uses the conclusions to analyses the current problem between farmland conversion and development of economy, and gives the policy suggestions of coordinated development between farmland conversion and economic growth.
