| In recent years, organizational change has been a hot issue, common concerned by theorists and businessmen at home and abroad. With the rapidly changing of environment and advancing of technology, change has become the inevitable demand in the development of the times and the strategic choices facing the modern enterprise. Organizational change is an important means of organizational development, it is important in maintaining long-term survival of the organization, promoting the healthy development of the organization, realizing the strategic objectives of the organization and implementing the sustainable development of the organization. Current research on organizational change focuses on the content, the process, the context, the resistance and the goals, etc. The research range is broader and the research area is more refined. Different paradigms of organizational change forms different research methods, research objects and guiding ideologies, but in the study course of the organizational change, how to make the move toward standardization in the field, very few people involved in the systematic problem. Therefore, by applying new technologies and methods, the paper visualizes the dynamic development law of the organization change field, forms the new mapping knowledge domain of organizational change, integrates its logic and combs its context; this will help promote the development and maturity of the research.Mapping knowledge domain is a emerging research area, based on citation analysis methods in scientific metrology and information visualization techniques. CiteSpace is one of the most useful tools that can deal with literature data and draw maps of scientific knowledge; it can identify and detect the dynamic process of research development. High-frequency keywords represents a hot area of research and development trends, by drawing a total co-word mapping knowledge domain of the organizational change field, we can visually see the current organizational change research focus, research fronts, theme structure and research trends. According to the SSCI database provided by US Science Information Service, based on analytic techniques such as the word frequency analysis, co-word analysis and cluster analysis, by using CiteSpace, a information visualization software, the paper draws out the mapping knowledge domain of keywords frequently used in the 35journals between 2000 and 2011 and makes a qualitative and quantitative study on organizational change field.Firstly, based on word frequency analysis, the paper detects the research focus in the organizational change field. The analysis results show that the research focus of organizational change field steadily changed, "organizational performance", "organizational change", "change management", "change model" have always been at the core of research areas, with the development of information technology and the progress of the times, "organizational innovation", "strategic change", "organizational learning", "organizational transformation" have become the focus of researchers, now these research focuses have been quite mature and expanded the new research scope, such as "knowledge management", "employee behavior" "employee attitude", "organization culture", "social identity" and "human resource management" and so on. Secondly, by using the burst term detection method, the paper defines the research fronts of the organizational change field. The analysis results show that" organizational transformation" and "environmental" have the largest changes in word frequency; they can be the research fronts of the organizational change field. In addition, with the importance of knowledge workers, "employee behavior", "employee psychology", "organizational commitment" and " employee cooperation" grow to be the concern of researchers and become new research fronts. Thirdly, by interpreting the time zone view, the paper defines the theme structure of the organizational change field. The analysis results show that Research on organizational performance is the early theme concerned by researchers, after the development over time, "change Management", "strategic change", "organizational learning", "human resources management" have become the focus of researchers. The research topic in recent years is concentrated in the "change routines ", "employee attitude", "job performance" and "social identity" and " multinational organization" and so on. Lastly, based on cluster analysis, the paper inducts the research trends in the organizational change field. The analysis results show that research on organizational performance has been the focus of researchers and is already quite mature; keywords in this area include"organizational change". "change model", "organizational perspective" "organizational innovation" and "competitive advantage", etc. Research on organizational culture needs to be strengthened and Research on middle managers is relatively new field and can be a new research direction in the future.Co-word analysis of the mapping knowledge domain, to a certain degree, can display research focus and theme structure of the organizational change field, predict the research trends in the field, defines the research status in the field, thus promotes the development of the field. Meanwhile, there are many worthwhile to think about the place. First, selecting words is important in the co-word analysis, but there is a considerable subjective factor in the process of selecting words. Second, certain types of literature are not indexed in the database, resulting in the co-word analysis results can not reflect the complete picture. Finally, different search strategies form different search results; statistical analysis of the results is also diversity. Different co-word visualization methods have different principles and characteristics, so the analysis results obtained will be different. Therefore, in practical applications, select the visualization methods should accord to the principles and features of each visualization method and consider the actual need. Only in this way, can we real show the dynamics and patterns of development and change and promote the development and mature of the research. |
