Report of the Third Session of the 16th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative pointed out that we should"insist people-oriented, comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development, and promote the overall economic, social and human development." The perception of developing emphasized on people-oriented development, this means that measuring living conditions can not be limited to objective factors, such as income and consumption levels. Measuring the meet of the needs of residents in all aspects (life satisfaction) comprehensively is more important. Agriculture is an important industry in Jiangsu which has a larger proportion of rural population. Countryside made a significant contribution to economic development, but rural residents didn't acquire reasonable parts of the fruits of social development and their quality of life was behind urban residents. Now, people pay more attention to"three dimensional rural issues", prosperity for all and the construction of a new socialist countryside views are raised into the agenda. At this background, my thesis took accurately reflecting the life satisfaction of rural residents in Jiangsu as the research objectives, Aimed to enhance their quality of life and achieve comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of society. This article includes five chapters which have made systematic research on the life satisfaction:The first chapter was the introduction, which introduced the background and significance of the study at the very beginning. Then briefly introduced the theory of life satisfaction and scientifically defined related concepts. At last, identified research ideas and methods based on systematically reviewing the progress and trends in the field of quality of life at home and abroad. The second chapter put forward the index system of the life satisfaction in China. First, it gave a brief introduction of the meaning of constructing the index system. then selected indicators based on the principles of constructing index system, proposed realistic the life satisfaction index system of rural residents in Jiangsu which taking into account the eight areas: economic condition, job, family and so on. At last, pointed out the deficiency of the index system. The third chapter studied the residents'life satisfaction of three groups. Firstly elaborated how to design the questionnaire and showed the feature of respondents'distribution. Secondly I used the methods of Confirmatory Factor Analysis and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to research the life satisfaction of rural residents in every group. At last, put forward recommendations to increase rural residents'life satisfaction with pertinence by analyzing their specifically areas'satisfaction. The fourth chapter analyzed the factors that influenced the overall life satisfaction of rural residents. At first, I selected eight factors accounting to the current achievements in the research. Then proposed studying hypotheses and constructed unordered multinomial logistic regression model to show that whether the factors were significant. based on these research, we can see how to improve overall rural residents'life satisfaction effectively. The fifth chapter was the summary. In this part, I discussed the insufficiency of this paper and found that the rural residents can be further subdivided into smaller teams to extend life satisfaction research.
