With China's rapid development, logistics has become a new economic growth point. The development history of logistics in the world has shown that, there is a profound connection between modern logistics and regional economic. They influence each other, undermining the balance between them, any of them will inhibit. Jiangsu Province is one of the developed regions in our country, which economic is in a leading position. In order to make the logistics and economic development more harmonious and stable, it's necessary to understand the intrinsic relationship between them and study the correlation and coordination between them by empirical research. This paper first analyzes the status and characteristics of logistics industry and regional economic development of Jiangsu, building their evaluation indicator system. Then, with the relevant data of year 2000-2009, we analyze the correlation and coordination between the two from overall perspective and point of view. In the overall study of correlation, we drawing the application of copula theory and apply it into measuring correlation. In the structural study, we use Grey relational analysis to measure correlation between cargo turnover and economic factors, as well as GDP and logistics factors. In the coordination study, first we use Membership function model to measure the overall coordination between logistics and economic from the perspective of static and dynamic, comparing the results with Distance model. Then, based on complex system coordination theory, putting the three regions and thirteen cities of Jiangsu as objects, we analyze the regular pattern and characteristics of regional coordinated development. At last, according to the empirical study results, we put forward some suggestions from different views.
