Since reform and opening has begun, the steel industry of China has experienced rapid development. At this time, it has become the world's largest crude steel producer. In recent period, what about the performance of the steel industry of China and its overall international competitiveness? Which sectors is most concern sectors in the whole process of development of the industry? What are the main factors in the playing during the development of the competitive comparative advantage affection? In the future, which strategies the steel industry of China should adopt to achieve greater progress? To solve these problems is the main purpose of this study lies. This paper briefly describes the meaning of competitiveness, which has been kept at home and abroad in a brief review of analytical models and evaluation system based on the review of domestic and foreign iron and steel industry, especially on the Chinese steel industry internationally competitive research literature. Then the paper introduced the current development of China's steel industry overview, and the use of South Korean Professor Dongsung-Cho's "nine-factor model," China's steel industry on the impact of the various factors analyzed in detail. By the "nine-factor model" integrated into the ser-M paradigm, build a competitive steel industry this analysis system, designed to compete subject (s), the competitive environment (e), competition for resources (r) and competition (M ) as the main competitiveness evaluation index structure. Of empirical research, this paper selected types of data calculated across the 1985-2009 China's steel industry in 30 years changed the course of the steel industry competitiveness. Finally, the combination of the preceding analysis and discussion, for the future of China's steel industry to the development of more robust, were given a micro level and macro-enterprise level industrial policy improvements and suggestions. This paper argues that China's steel industry, although development is extremely rapid, it is still difficult as iron and steel power. The main problems are: raw materials controlled by others, less ability to resist risks; capacity sprawl, low-end, repetitive production can be eliminated; product structure is irrational, and low added value; industry concentration is low, economies of scale cannot play ; international competitive environment tends to deteriorate; high energy consumption, environmental damage; cargo capacity is inadequate. Affecting the competitiveness of the steel industry in the various influencing factors, the relative concentration of the most important industry. Labor productivity, the industry technology level, ore import price and other factors should also receive attention. Address problems identified in this paper that the system should take into account the industry's development strategy, from the micro level and macro-level into account, in order to consolidate the fruits of development, and create a good situation.
