In recent years, the rapid development of tourism consumption has already been a consumption hotspot and a new economic growth point in China. With China's social and economic development, fast urbanization, rapid population growth and the improved people's living standards, the tourism consumption of city resident's increased the impacts on the environment. The flow of cross area tourists caused transferring and exchange on environmental impacts of regional tourism consumption, lead to interregional transfer of tourism ecological responsibility and diffusion of the ecological impact of tourism development, regional environmental impact present global ecological characteristics. People started to pay more and more attention to the environmental impact of the tourism consumption, and mainly of the present research is the theory research. This study took Beijing as an example, analyzed the resident travel consumption of the environmental impact, and it has important theoretical and practical significance. On the basis of the theoretical research, the thesis focused on the tourism consumption of Beijing residents by sample investigation. First of all, we analyzed the characteristics of tourism consumption of Beijing residents. The results showed that the hot tourist area such as Hainan, Yunnan and Sichuan are still the destination in most people's choice. Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other developed areas also become the prefer tourism destinations to Beijing urban residents. Tourists tend to choose the individual travel whose content and form are freer. Sightseeing tourism is the main section of tourism consumption structure, while other tourism products'consumption was little. People who make planning for future tourism and its development should pay more attention to market aspects, standing on tourism consumers'position when they develop and design products, rather than putting their personal preference on tourism to consumers. Secondly, we used wastewater discharge, garbage emissions and traffic carbon emissions as the main index when analyzed environmental impacts of Beijing residents' consumer behavior. For example, catering, lodging and transporting in the process of tourism consumption. The results showed that per capita production of sewage and trash quantity stay relatively high in more developed areas. From further analysis on tourists'food consumption we found that, the quantity of sewage produced by tourism consumers in the second and third areas is64.8%of the total, and the garbage is about65.9%of the total. We also found that per capita carbon emissions on by plane are878.12kg for the tourist traffic, which is9.5times for the train (92.43kg) and11.5times for the car (76.15kg) respectively. Thirdly, from the view of sustainable tourism consumption, we discussed the way of realizing sustainable tourism consumption. Concretely, it included increasing household income and leisure time; advocating sustainable tourism consumption actions and establishing the sustainable consumption ideas, guiding tourists to establish right patterns in consumer behavior; regulating tourism consumption behavior, and making policies for sustainable consumption; besides, controlling the sustainable tourism consumption from the source, carrying out ecological management in tourist production enterprises, striving to promote sustainable tourism production and so on. In the end of the paper, we also present some ecological management measures on sustainable tourist consumption for related enterprises.
