As women enterprising is flourishing globally, the conflict and contradictions of women entrepreneurs among multiple roles between work and family become more and more acute. Almost all women entrepreneurs are facing a different degree of work-family issues. Under this background, this paper study and analyze the work-family problem of women entrepreneurs, around the code questions, such as "what is a work-family conflict," "how to balance the conflict ", "what kind of balance model" and "in different stages of entrepreneurship which model should be selected". We try to make some theoretical guidance for the development of today's women entrepreneurs.First, we summarized a new perspective of the research on work-family relationship, which based on the theories of work-family conflict and work-family promotion and combined with the inherent characteristics of women entrepreneurs. Second, by the depth interviews of women entrepreneurs and the use of grounded theory, we initially discovered a basic construct of work-family balance of women entrepreneurs. The results indicated that work-family balance of women entrepreneurs is a dynamic process, which women entrepreneurs try to exchange and interact between the areas of work and family in order to achieve the greatest satisfaction. It is a multidimensional structure, including three dimensions: emotional support, resource coordination, and role management. Then, based on the recognition of the work-family balance of women entrepreneurs and combined with the enterprise growth theory, we further researched the different choice of balance mode when women entrepreneurs was in different stages of entrepreneurship and tried to balance their work-family conflict. We found that in different stages of entrepreneurship women entrepreneurs will select two dominant modes rather then only one of them. In General, in the initial stage there was prospect-forecast model and Interest-exchange model as the leading models; in the growth stage there was Interest-exchange model and role-demand model as the leading models; in the mature stage, there was prospect-forecast model and role-demand model as the leading models.Lastly, we discussed the theoretical progress and practical implications and pointed out the limitations of this paper and future directions for further research. |
