Effect Of Promotion To Economic Growth Of Automotive Industry In Jin Lin Province

The history of the world economy and the automobile industry shows that the automobile industry has played a supporting role in both Western developed countries and developing countries. Automobile industry is one of the mainstays of the country's economy. The specialized characteristics of automobile industry include the following: high correlation with other industries; labor-intensive employment; a wide range of industry spread. It is such features of the automobile industry that makes the automobile industry a mainstay and an engine of economic growth, either in developed or developing countries.Jilin Province is the cradle of the automobile industry in China, and this industry has become the leading industry for economic development of Jilin Province. The FAW (the First Automobile Factory of China)--one of the three biggest automobile groups of China, is located in Jilin province, playing an important role in domestic automobile industry, with the annual production and sales ranking No.1 in China. In recent years, the reason of rapid industrial growth of Jilin lies in the fast development of auto industry, indicating that industrial development in Jilin is more and more independent of auto industry. In a sense it is crucial to exert the auto-industrial pulling force for reviving industries of Jilin Province.This thesis chooses the automobile industry in Jilin Province as the research object. It first expounds relative theories about industry, chain theory, etc., and analyzes the actual situation of auto-industrial development and the domestic and foreign environment for this industry in Jilin Province. Quantitative and qualitative analysis are used in combination, and the Feder model is valued in researching the driving effect of automobile industry on the economic growth in Jilin Province. Finally it is concluded that the automobile industry has contributed much to the gross economic growth in Jilin Province, but it hasn't penetrated other industries, and some correspondent suggestions are provided.
