Under this background, the author of this paper has chosen the " urban villages "in xi'an as the sample of the research to carry out the empirical study of the urbanization of the villagers, together with the reorganization of the questionnaire survey data and interview material, to describe the present situation of villager's urbanization in xi'an., and reveal all kinds of problems existing in such a process, and give Further inquiry to find out the reasons of these problems and the reasons of the blockage of the villagers' urbanization. Finally, the author tried to give the related countermeasures of these problems. The purpose of this paper is to raise the awareness of these special groups to be concerned for their unique identity. At the same time in their transformation of the census register and residence, realize the transformation of their role of farmers to the citizens in economic level, Social life, inner thoughts, and rights security.The paper is divided into four chapters.Chapter one is the Introduction Part. In this part the author introduced the background, purpose, significance, domestic and foreign related research achievements of villagers' citizenship, explained and illustrated the main concept and the selected researching methods of the study, and briefly introduced the related theoretical basis.Chapter two focused on the detailed introduction of the present situation of the urbanization of the urban villagers in the economic level, social and psychological level. The statistical analysis of the questionnaire survey showed that the urban villagers who live on the receiving of the rental along are always at an inferior position in the employment competition; they always had the low awareness of the time in their social life, and they can not use it very effectively. Interpersonal networks are mainly based on the blood and geographical relations, obeying the social norms is mainly relied on the constraint and the control of the external power, their enthusiasm for participating the public affairs is not high, The identity of their citizenship and belonging to the city is low, and they usually have the tendency for marginalization.Chapter three focused on analyzing the problems and the reasons of the villagers' citizenization in the process of their integration. The four major problems are as follows: first, high income low employment lead to be lazy. Second, live in the management of the vacuum area for a long time, and lack of a citizen consciousness. Third, they can't adapt to the social interaction.From "the Acquaintances society" to "the strangers society", fourth, the younger generations are always depend everything on their ancestors, which is caused by the traditional ideas in agricultural society. The reasons are three parts:Microscopic reasons include their own quality restrictions rooted in the love of the rural society and the villagers'land, next reason is the The villagers'social capital shortage, Macroscopic reason is the conflict between the traditional culture and the modern culture, and the barriers between the Urban and rural system.Chapter four is trying to give Suggestions on how to promote the urbanization of the urban villagers, in the system construction and the policy guidance, the social security of the villagers should be established and improved. The employment of the urban villagers should be promoted; in the Media construction, we Should play the role of mass media guide to lead the positive public opinions; in the Community construction, promote the transformation from rural communities to urban community. Lastly the author suggested the urban villagers should make a change relied on their own efforts to achieve citizenship.The last part is the conclusion, in this part, the author objectively evaluate the research and writing of the full text. And the author tried her best to make contributions to the research of the urbanization of the urban villagers. However, there are also some weaknesses in this paper, the author will try her best to improve it in the future.
