Building harmonioussociety and solving "the there problems about countryside, agriculture and farmers", the first is tohave equal income distribution system for all residents. The rural population accounts for2/3of thetotal population in Shanxi, and the income gap is expanding bigger and bigger. Shorten the incomegap have great significance for the integration of urban and rural construction. On the past reference of other research results, this paper analyses the development trend, regional difference of the income gap, and the influence of different income. Then, it uses Kuznetscurve to prove the income gap between urban and rural areas in Shanxi. Finally, the text performsempirical research on the income gap in Shanxi by using Auto-Regressive and Moving Average andStepwise regression.Chapter three, this paper analyses the current situation of the income gap of urban and ruralresidents in Shanxi by using comparative analysis to compare the income gap from the angle oftime and space. It reviews the change trace of income gap in Shanxi and divided the period from1978to2010into four stages. We can find that the income gap rises with fluctuation. From thespace angle, this text compares the11administrative areas of Shanxi. The study shows that theincome gap is not alike in different administrative areas and most of them are increasing. Then, wecompare the income gap of Shanxi with the whole country and find that the Shanxi income gaptrend is basically in line with that of the nation, but the absolute income gap is lower than thenational average level.Chapter four, this paper uses Kuznets curve to prove the income gap between urban and ruralareas in Shanxi, and adopts the Auto-Regressive Moving Average Model to forecast the changetrend of the income gap. The results indicate that the income gap accords with Kuznets curve, which will keep widening instead of narrowing.Chapter five, this paper performs empirical research on the factors affecting income gap inShanxi. We use Stepwise Regression method, and find out the notable factor of influencing theincome gap. Then we use them as variables to establish the multiple regression model, and analyze the impact of those factors. The result shows that binary structure coefficient is the most strikingfactor of influencing the income gap.Chapter six, we put forwards some policy suggestions to shorten the income gap in Shanxi. Suchas improve the dual structure between urban and rural areas, increase agricultural subsides and ruralinfrastructure investments, strengthen technical support to agricultural rural, enhance agriculturalindustrial competitiveness and promote the farmer additionally receiving etc.
