Multi-beam bathymetric system calibration technology research comes from National Science and Technology Support Plan Subject-the technology of fast approaching target in emergency on maritime, whose purpose is to it be able to carry a large underwater distress target search and realize the initial location, facilitate the implementation of rescue and salvage, To improve the precision of underwater detection system, accelerate the search speed.In order to improve the precision of the water depth detection and localization, this article from the multi-beam bathymetric system principle and sounding characteristics, establishment of multi-beam bathymetric system spatial resolution model, based on the detect target size and differences of water environment on multi-beam bathymetric system error source analysis, comprehensive deal with the speed of sound, tide, roll, pitch, delay and ship speed out of the many aspects deviation, establish the various error calibration model, based on the interaction between every error, and put forward the process of parameter calibration. Use the position and sensor information of the detection, According to the spatial position relative with transducer, comprehensive the calibration of tidal and sound velocity, derive the transmission formula of detection target steady depth and position, realize the initial location.Then, testing the method of error calibration in the sea near the Dalian, according to the parallel wiring full coverage of the principles of data collection, and according to the different requirements of seabed terrain calibration selected test area respectively, improve the quality of data acquisition, deal with the income data, compared the before and after calibration data and analysis precision, the whole calibration process is repeated, after the completion of a new calibration, correct the steps of calibration results do not meet the requirement until the results meet the preset values. This cycle processing mode reduces the influence of error effectively, avoiding one calibration problem lead to the error result, improve the multi-beam system depth and position accuracy obviously. Finally, the multi-beam bathymetric system calibration model and process applied in actual engineering, the application of this method to calibrate the system, and then detect the seabed terrain contrast the harbor calibration, draw out the standard topographic map for water of harbor, providing strong safeguard for the vessel in the harbor.
