The second national land survey established a land-use database based on data of land-use, land-ownership, basic farmland and so on. In order to ensure the current potential of land-use database, our country carries out a survey of land-use changing each year, and the results will be updated in the database. It’s found that the current method of data organization not only exists the problem of data redundancy, but also needs a large number of spatial data manipulation and complex topological relations handling to process the changes caused by administrative region or land parcels. Therefore, it’s so difficult.Given the disadvantages of the current model of land-use data, this paper adopted spatial aggregation methods, and established a land-use data model based on spatial aggregation (LUDAM). This paper also researched on the update of land-use data and confirmed it by examples. The paper focuses on the following aspects: 1. Establish a land-use data model based on spatial aggregationThe paper researched on the current model of land-use data, and pointed out the problems of data redundancy and consistency maintenance. Based on the characteristics of land-use data, the structure of land use data and the relationship between them, the paper adopted technology of spatial targets aggregation, established a land-use data model based on spatial aggregation (LUDAM). This model can reduce data redundancy, and achieve the orderly storage and efficient management of land use data. 2. Research on the method of land-use data update based on LUDAMThe paper analyzed the complexity of the operation caused by administrative region or land parcels under the conventional update mechanism, studied and explored the update mechanism of LUDAM in detail, and gave expression to the advantages of the new mechanism through the analytic results of comparison. This paper is aimed at applying the technology of spatial aggregation to land-use data management, resolving the current problems of data redundancy and consistency maintenance through the way of redesigning the methods of data management and data update. This is an exploratory study, hoping that this new attempt can provide a new idea and method for land-use data management.
