The Design And Construction Of The Beibu Gulf Economic Zone Spatial Database Based On ArcSDE

The spatial database is an important research in the field of GIS. Acomprehensive, efficient spatial database is the solid foundation of GIS.Spatial database of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone is the data base andresearch priorities of "the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone scientific datasharing platform construction and decision support system development ".Guided by the general database design theory and methods, and on thebasis of fully consider the characteristics of the spatial data of the BeibuGulf Economic Zone, Integrated ArcSDE and SQL Server2005technologyto build the spatial database of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone. The mainresearch work includes:(1) Around the spatial database design and realization of the main line,in accordance with the general process of database design, combined withthe spatial data model on Geodatabase, from four aspects of requirementsanalysis, conceptual design, logical design and physical design to designthe database in detail.(2) Study the standardization of spatial data, spatial data organizationand management of spatial data, the meta-database design, the use of datain a multi-user environment, security of the database, database backup andrecovery technology.(3) On the basis of the database design, with the desktop software ofArcGIS as the platform, the Geodatabase as the spatial data model, theArcSDE as the spatial database engine, SQL Server2005as the databasemanagement system to build the system structure of the spatial database ofthe Beibu Gulf Economic Zone.(4) According to the general process of the spatial data collection,described the process of data processing, and achieve a large number of vector data, raster data and attribute data to the classification of storage foruse the "Import" and "Load" tools that Arcatalog provides.As the database of "the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone scientific datasharing platform and decision support system ", the spatial database of theBeibu Gulf Economic Zone will be put into use, and achieve somefunctions like map display, query, zoom, attribute data query.
