Fujian is a meteorological disaster-prone province where is frequently hit by typhoon, storm, torrential flood, mud avalanche. For better detecting and monitoring the severe weather, improving the now casting accuracy, Fujian Meteorological Administration strive to enhance meteorological observation, establish various types of province-wide automatic meteorological observation station and strengthen weather radar observations density.Along with the increasing types and number of observation equipment, requirements for data transmission stability generated by all sorts of meteorological observation apparatus, including bit error ratio, biterror, becomes a hot topic concerned by meteorological department. The introduction of "Beidou satellite number one" Compass Navigation Satellite System is a supplement for existing optical fiber, GPRS/CDMA, text messages and other communications way in meteorological department.As the main unit of meteorological instrument technical support of our province, Fujian Atmospheric Detection Technology Security Center, combining existing meteorological observation and air weather network in Fujian province, conduct research on the feasibility of "Beidou satellite1" communication system’s application in meteorological department. The following contents are mainly studied on this paper:1. Study and research on existing working principle, composition structure, work environment, data transmission system and network scheme of automatic meteorological observation station in Fujian Meteorological Administration and the Technique Principle of "Beidou Satellite1"communication system, such as system structure, technical characteristics, and main units.2. A general design and Comparative test on the realization of "Beidou Satellite1"communication system in Automatic meteorological station system, and also Feasibility analysis of its Power supply system3. Realization on Meteorological emergency communication transmission of "Beidou Satellite1" communication system in preliminary stage.4. Finally, this article summarizes the application of "Beidou satellite1" communication system in meteorological department, and put forward the scheme on Satellite system application in next step.
