In recent years,marine data transmission technology has developed continuously,but there are still some weakness,such as limited data transmission distance,not long time continuous observation of marine instruments,no warranty for data security,high cost of data communication and so on.This paper designs the transmission system of marine environment observation data based on iridium satellite communication.Moreover,more reliable suggestions for some existing problems about marine data transmission are given.In this paper,based on iridium satellite network,a complete link are designed from data acquisition,data compression and encryption,data remote transmission to the data reception and storage.This paper provides a new solution for the transmission of submarine environment data.The paper introduced the hardware and software design of the transmission system of marine environment observation data based on iridium satellite communication in detail.In the process of this design,the power consumption of system is reduced and the reliability of system is ensured emphatically.This system consists of three parts,including data acquisition subsystem,iridium satellite communication subsystem and data receiving subsystem.The data acquisition subsystem receives observation data from ocean instruments,stores,compresses and encrypts data,and transmits data to the iridium satellite communication subsystem.The iridium satellite communication subsystem receives data and transmits data to the iridium satellite base station.The data receiving subsystem is a self-designed host computer software.It can receive data through the method of “Direct IP” and parse and store the data.The other main content of the paper is the design of compression encryption algorithm for marine data.In order to save the cost of data transmission and ensure data security,the data acquisition subsystem needs to compress and encrypt the data after receiving data from the marine instruments.Taking the CTD data as an example,this paper introduces the design of the compression encryption algorithm in detail.At the end of the paper,tests including staged debugging and sea trial are introduced.The results show that the system achieves a reliable and stable data transmission process and has a good application prospect.
