Three-dimension terrestrial laser scanning technology is a novel one in measurement field,which is used widely. Because It is rapid,high precision, non contact, digital and automatic.The key of three-dimension terrestrial laser scanning technology’s application in variousfields is to obtain the final results by collecting point cloud data of object surface and thenprocessing data according to certain processing methods. And in ancient architecture mapping,it has great significance to conserve, repair and reconstruct architectural heritages.This paper introduces the development and researches of three-dimension terrestrial laserscanning technology; structure characteristics of Chinese architectural heritages, contents andrequirements of ancient architecture surveying and mapping; types of ancient architecturesurveying and mapping; main technical methods of ancient architecture surveying andmapping. Detailed description of studying on the processing of obtaining cloud data,de-noising data "Point Cloud" by cyclone software, example splicing using kinds of meansand finally obtaining the whole point cloud splicing model are presented in this thesis.In this paper, discusses the three-dimension terrestrial laser scanning technology ofarchitectural heritages. And we also study the concrete course of building model; texturemapping and recovering feature line for the three-dimensional model built; drawing thevertical, cesarean, bow and planar graph; accurate analysis on three-dimensional model.Finally discusses the important of conserving, repairing and reconstructing architecturalheritages.In ancient architecture mapping, the traditional surveying and mapping method can beinstead by the three-dimension terrestrial laser scanning technology which can acquire datafaster and obtains the high accurately processed data, so it has good application prospect inthe ancient architecture mapping.
