As ancient buildings across the country have been destroyed to varying degrees, the long-established cultural heritage of buildings is facing a severe test,so the protection of ancient buildings is more pressing. With the rapid development of science and technology, the three-dimensional laser scanning technology has developed rapidly in the field of surveying and mapping. The 3D laser scanning technology changes the traditional single-point measurement method with massive point cloud data and is applied in the surveying and mapping of ancient buildings. The three-dimensional laser scanning technology is of great significance to the protection, repair, and digitization of surveying and mapping results of buildings. This article uses the ground three-dimensional laser scanner to explore the surveying and mapping of ancient buildings, mainly to complete the following work:(1)It introduces the basic characteristics of Chinese ancient architecture and the surveying and mapping of ancient architecture, and introduces the basic principles of terrestrial 3D laser scanner and its difference from traditional surveying and mapping technology.(2)It studies the accuracy of the terrestrial 3D laser scanner from horizontal angle and distance measurement. It analyzes the accuracy of the horizontal angle of the Z+F IMAGER 5010 C 3D laser scanner at different distances, the results show that angle measurement accuracy of the horizontal angle at a distance of 20 m and 40 m meets nominal accuracy. The ranging accuracy of the Z+F IMAGER 5010 C three-dimensional laser scanner is measured at distances of 10 m,20m,40 m,60m,80 m,and 100 m.The accuracy of the ranging also meets the required accuracy. At the distance of data collection of ancient buildings in this paper, the required accuracy requirements are also met.(3)Aiming at the registration problem of Z+F IMAGER 5010 C three-dimensional laser scanner, the effects of resolution, distance, number of target spheres and number of scanning spots on the surface of the target ball on the accuracy of stitching are analyzed, and the influence degree and influence trend of various factors on the stitching accuracy are explored.According to the different precision requirements of ancient buildings,it adjusts different factors and collects the corresponding ancient building point cloud data.(4)It has the whole point cloud sliced at different positions and drew the plan and elevation of the ancient building in Auto CAD.Triangular mesh modeling of the interior of the ancient building has been performed in Geomagic Studio. The roofs of ancient buildings have been finely modeled at 3ds Max and the 3D models of them have been further mapped texture. In the accuracy analysis of the modeling point, the nonlinear model and the linear model are used for analysis.
