In recent years, special interest has been focused on the design and synthesis of coordination polymers, not only because of the fascinating structural diversities, but for their potential application in the fields of gas adsorption and separating, catalysis, inos exchange, optical, magnetism and so on.In this paper, chelidamic acid and auxiliary ligands, such as,4,4’-bipyridyl or1,10-phenanthroline, reacted with transition metal ions, rare earth metal ions, alkaline earth metal ions, or the mixed metal ions and produced twenty-three new complexes. Futhermore, their crystal structures were characterized by single-crystal diffraction, TG and IR. The luminescent properties of most of the complexes have been investigated.1. As an emblematical multi-dentate ligand, chelidamic acid can adopt various bonding modes with metal ions and produce diversity polymeric frameworks. Herein, ten new complexes have been synthesized. Complexes1and2are3D coordination polymer. In2, Chelidamic acid ligands show μ3-coordinated mode, which is the third example with3D framework for the chelidamic acid ligands. Use of the flexible coordination modes of carboxylate acid groups and hydroxyl groups of the ligand, complexes3-6all show different one-dimensional chain. In the heterometallic complexes9-10, Ag(I) ions and K(I) ions all exhibits unormal two-coordinated and eight-coordinated. Complex9presents a1D chain. The infrared spectra of complexes1,9and10have been investigated and the fluorescent properties of them have been investigated except1and8.2. Here, Five transition complexes with different stuctures and five discret rare earth metal complexes based on chelidamic acid and4,4’-bipyridyl have been synthesized. Complexes11-12are different2D layer structures. In the structure of13, two Co(II) ions coordinated with different ligands. The4,4’-bipyridyl ligands act as bridging ligands connecting the Co(II) centers to form a1D linear chain. The hydrogen bond interactions and the π-π interactions are sever to connect these1D linear chains to2D layer, and then extend to3D supramolecular architecture. Complexes14-20are monomeric structures, among which14-15、16-17、18-20are isostructural. The fluorescence properties and infrared spectra of complexes11-15have been investigated, while the fluorescence properties and thermal stabilities of16-20have been investigated.3. Three discret lanthanide metal complexes containing chelidamic acid and1,10-phenanthroline have been synthesized, among which H-bonds and weak π-π stacking interactions between the aromatic rings of coordinated chelidamic acid and1,10-phenanthroline molecules are sever to the construction of3D supramolecular networks. The fluorescence properties and IR of complexes21-23have been investigated.
