Plate wedge is important conception in heavy plate rolling, it affects not only therolling cross-sectional shape, but also may be cause bending and deviation of the rolling,which have a serious impact on the stability of the rolling process and the quality of thefinished rolled. Thus researching on variation law and building prediction model toprovide the basis for the wedge control in production process and improve the quality ofplate is very meaningful.According to the given parameters of the 4300mm heavy plate mill, this paper hasestablished the coupled thermo-mechanical models of heavy plate rolling process. Basedon a large of the finite element simulation data, the influence of alignment deviation,modulus difference, entrance wedge and transverse temperature disproportionation on thechange of principle and degree of the outlet wedge is analyzed.Taking advantage of influence function method which is characterized by speedy incomputation and convenience in field use, a wedge fast prediction system is developed.When the rolling parameters and disturbance quantity of wedge are known, this systemcan rapidly computes and forecast the outlet wedge. At the same time, to make the modelsdeveloped by the paper used widely, the paper packs these two models together withvisualization software packages, it makes users operate the software easily and fast, whichrealizes studying and rapid forecasting the change of principle of the outlet wedge.
