Polypropylene catalyst and process engineering in the test base oil stock company by the Chinese Ministry of Science project was approved in July 2007,99.98 million yuan investment in building the first batch of laboratory/pilot bases. Polypropylene catalyst and process engineering in the test base can be simulated by a set of 75kgPP/hr Spheripol process polypropylene pilot plant and supporting facilities, is the first set of Petrochina polypropylene pilot plant.This article first analyzes the main risks and hazards of the plant. Then,compared with the Fire Proof Code for Petrochemical Enterprise(GB50160-2008), Electrical Installations Design Code for Explosive Atmospheres and Fire Hazard(GB50058—92)and other safety codes and standards, evaluation was made on the overall configuration, general safeguarding measures, combustible and explosive locations, safe control of hazard, supervision and inspection of special equipment, electrical safety, prevention from mechanical injury, safeguarding for process facilities, safety production, and so on. Finally, a conclusion drawn for the plant is that its construction conforms with the requirements of the national laws, regulations and standards, and the problems existing was pointed out and suggestions for improvement was put forward.The safety evaluation will play a significant role in improving the level of safety management and ensuring safety operation of the plant.
