In recent years, the design and synthesis of the complexes with novel structures and new functions have become one of research hotspots. Among, due to the various structures and the unique behaviors, the complexes, which are formed by the self-assembly of organic compounds of nitrogenous carboxylic acid and transition metals, have caused the attentions of many chemical workers, and have become the important subjects of combined chemistry and crystal engineering. Such class complexes have the prospects of wide applications in the fields of molecular self-assembly, molecular recognitions, molecular catalysis, magnetic materials, optoelectronic materials, drug synthesis, gas absorption, and so on.In present work, upon making use of two classes of organic carboxylic acids (pyridine acetic acid and tri-imidazole acetic acid) as main ligands, and 1.10-anthroline,2,2-bipyridine, tri-chloride acetic acid, benzene sulfonate, Sodium dicyanamide as common ligands, nine metal complexes are synthesized by means of the concept of molecular design and molecular engineering. The research results are shown as followings,1. Upon using 3-prydine acetic acid as the main ligand, four metal complexes are synthesized as [Fe(pac)2(H2O)2]n(1), [Zn(pac)2(H2O)2]n(2),{[Cu (pac)2(phen)2]·(CH3OH)2·(H2O)}n(3), [Zn(pac)2 (H2O)2]n(4) (pac=3-pyridine acetic acid; phen=1,10-anthroline).2. Upon using 1,10-anthroline as the main ligand, four metal complexes are synthesized as{[Cr(NCS)6]-K3-(phen)-C6H6-CH3CN}(5), [Cu(CCl3COO)2(phen)(H2O)](6),{[Co(phen)2(H2O)Cl]-(Cl)-(H2O)-(CH3CN)}(7), and [Er(phen)2(NO3)3] (8), where phen is 1,10-anthroline.3. With 8-hydroxyl quinoline as the ligand, one metal complex is synthesized as {[Co(lyh)2-(Hlyh)]-(H2O)}(lyh=8-hydroxyl quinoline) (9).4.One organic compound (?)cooH (10) is synthesized, and its crystal is obtained.In present work, five complexes are characterized by using the infrared spectroscopy, the crystal structures of eleven complexes and one ligand are determined with the X-ray diffraction. In addition, the fluorescent emissions of one complex are determined.
