Concentrated nitric acid is one of the main chemical products in Jilin Petrochemical Company. The primary oxidation tower is the key device in the whole concentrated nitric acid systems, which connects device of dilute nitric acid to that of concentrated nitric acid. Its capacity is not match with that of the ammonia oxidation furnace and autoclave, which has an effect on the capacity expansion revamping. So it is very significant for raising the production load and increasing yield of the profitability of the product to reform the primary oxidation tower properly.This thesis belongs to applied research basing on the practical production in enterprise. The deficiencies of the present initial oxidation tower are found out by simulated calculation using the PROII software. The target of capacity expansion is achieved by the method of the reforming which is put forward basing on the deficiencies.It can make the conclusions which are as following after redesigned:The magnetic rings bulk packing in original tower is changed with 304L stainless steel. The tower diameter is changed from 8 to 5 meter in order to eliminate liquid rivulet and wall flow phenomenon under the premise of more than 120 seconds during oxidation time, which can improve the efficiency. Accordingly, the tower height is changed from 16 to 32 in order to make sure the enough oxidation time. And it can improve the quality of the products and production capacity.It can realize the the automatic control of the system and make sure the stable operation after reforming. An yield increase of 25 kilograms of concentrated nitric acid per hour, that is 200 tons is achieved every year using the emission-reduction nitric oxide. Overall it can make 30.3 millions yuan benefits annual.
