Marine environmental protection has been one of the biggest concerns of the whole world. In recent years marine contamination prominently stands out of all. One of the factors that damage the marine environment is the ship discharge, which has ever called for concern and research from all groups.It has been proved that human factors have mostly contributed to the marine environmental pollution caused by the ship discharge of waste. Therefore, IMO continuously works hard at the improvement of seafarers’qualification. The Manila Amendments to STCW take engine room management (ERM) as an compulsory requirement, which puts lots of emphasis on the training and cultivation of seafarers’ competency and is an effective way to improve the ship anti-pollution technology and the professional qualification of seafarers’.The training on marine engine simulators is of great importance to the improvement of seafarers’qualification and the avoidance of the accidents caused by humans. The simulation models of the DMS-2005 simulator completed on the behalf of Tianjin Maritime Vocational Institute by Dalian Maritime University has the shortcomings of too simplified design and of the lack of incinerator, sewage treatment plant and oily water separator and, which will do no good to the more complicated and more pointed training. The paper makes a complete study on shipboard anti-pollution equipment on the basis of the DMS-2005 simulator’s disadvantages, develops the mathematic models of the anti-pollution equipment that is composed of incinerators, sewage treatment plants, oily water treatment devices and its associated control devices, realizes the program designs of simulation models and operation interface by means of PROSIMS and VC++6.0, accomplishes the integration and data communication of simulation system and simulator’s simulation platform and the development of the simulation system of shipboard anti-pollution equipment, which will become a key part of engine simulators. Firstly, the paper analyzes the disadvantages of the DMS-2005 simulator on the respects of anti-pollution devices and systems, and thereby defines the objectives, meanings and main contents of the subject.Secondly, with the typical anti-pollution equipment and system (including three modules, namely, sewage treatment plants, oily water treatment devices and their associated control devices) as the research subject, the research does a complete study on equipment features, functions and characteristics, usage and management, etc., and then does a systematic design on the simulation programs of all the typical systems.Finally, after making simulation designs for anti-pollution equipment and system and as well with the help of modeling idea, the mathematic models for incinerators, sewage treatment devices, oily water separators and their associated control systems are completed, and the calculation for simulation models are accomplished by use of PROSIMS and VC++ programming language. VC++6.0 supports the completion of program designs and programming for visual operation interface of all systems. Additionally, the integration and data communication between simulation system and simulators’simulation platform are accomplished, and simultaneously so is the development of visual simulation system for anti-pollution devices.The simulation system, as a critical part of marine engine simulators, can be used for students’ operation training and evaluation...
