Today, people pay more attention to environmental and natural resources issues in current circumstances. Fluorite is one of the most important components of industrial system, although it is not recognized and understood by the public in many nonmetallic natural resources. Certain fluorite complied with the requirements itself can be used as an artwork, to make optical instruments, in glass and steel industry etc. In addition, as the main source of industrial fluorine elements, its direct reaction product with concentrated sulfuric acid-hydrogen fluoride is the development foundation at inorganic and organic fluorite industrial. So the reasonable mining and separating and use of fluorite resources are related to sustainable development. This paper deals with the study of benefieiation method and the disposal of tailings based on the elaboration about fluorite application and the market demand. Finally we have a hand in the primary factory settings taking a specific mining project as background.First, we introduce the characteristics and technological process of different mineral processing after the introduction of fluorite application and market demand. Then we enrich the percentage of CaF2by different processing methods and discuss the advantages and disadvantages and their suitability of different methods with products as the guidance.Flotation is selected as the method for overall process technical route. Following on we discuss the process selection and reagent system aim at the low grade fluorite. The beneficiation flow sheet we made sure includes two crush, two period of grinding, grading recycled grinding, multiple times selected based on the influence of the particle size distribution and pH value.The disposal of tailings is safe storage, at the same time, think over comprehensively utilize tailings according to the characteristics of tailings. The key of safe storage lies in the site selection of tailing pond and the reasonable design of tailing dam. The paper provides the preliminary construction scheme.And we set tailing pond which has multiple advantages and functions using vantage ground on the basis of geographical position and engineering geological conditions of tailings area, at the same time, we preliminary work out tailing dam according to the geological conditions and considering the dam foundation drainage and flood control of reservoir area. Technology and economic analysis show that this research project is feasible technologically and economically.
