Parmeteric Design Of Wire Drawing Machine Based On Knowledge Engineering

Manufacturing is the foundation and support of the country’s economic development. In order to shorten development cycle of the new products, improve the quality of product design and manufacturing, and enhance the capability of rapid response to market for the company, a series of new rapid designing technology came into being. The design based on knowledge engineering is a method of realizing automation, intelligence, and parallelization. Research on it’s application has become the domestic and foreign scholars study hotspots. Meanwhile, it has important practical value in improving the quality and efficiency of product designing. In this paper, with the designing of the wire drawing machine, the designing method based on knowledge engineering has been studied, and the parametric designing method based on knowledge engineering has been proposed. Specific studies are as following:1.The knowledge of wire drawing machine has been analyzed and extracted. According to the designing process of wire drawing machine, the knowledge of designing, experience, designing standard and etc were analyzed. And according to the wire drawing machine with a die, the main parameters of the machine were determined, the knowledge and structural parameters for the wire drawing machine in accordance with knowledge engineering were collated and analyzed.2.Knowledge representation of the wire drawing machine was studied, including parameter extraction, expression of the relationship between parameters, the found of both parameter correlation model and skeleton model, and the apply of check and rule mechanism, and so on.3.The parameter design method based on knowledge engineering was proposed. Using CATIA knowledge advisor module and the knowledge of engineering principles, combining with the knowledge of wire drawing machine, the parametric model based on the entire machine was established; In the process of parametric designing of wire drawing machine for different parts, using the key technology of parametric design, such as top-down design, parametric model of the parts, user defined features, self-defined parts library, and associated design to complete the design. Then, the parameters are able to drive the changes of designing for the whole machine, which supports product deformation and serialization.This paper used CATIA software to design wire drawing machine, achieved digital design, improved the product quality of wire drawing machine, shortened the design cycle, and improved the designing efficiency.
