Toy has been playing an important role in the growth process of preschool children.It abstracts the affairs of adults’ world, and also tells some reasons via particular meansby playing. In this thesis, preschool children of3-6years old are the target groups fortoy design investigation. The interactive design idea has been used in design researchfor better project with fun and joy, and helps preschool children with physical andmental development. On account of this idea, it could set up a better interaction andcommunication platform among preschool children, toys, partners and parents, andprovide practical theory and data to the future development of child toy property assustain.In this thesis, there are5main parts:The first chapter has elaborated the background, motive, purpose and substance byhighlighting significance of child toy design with interactive design idea.The second chapter has focused on the analysis of objects. Then the definition ofpreschool children, it investigates physical, cognitive, social, emotional aspects ofdevelopment characteristics according to age grades. The definition of child toy dependson classification of research priorities. It includes some research on theinterrelationships between toys and preschool children, and points out the problemwhich the preschool toys are faced, as the theoretical principle for the whole research.The third chapter has expounded the content, goal and method of interactive designidea, which appears to be important in preschool toy design, and has demonstrated bythe given cases. It has also provided analysis of the factors that affect the interactionbetween children and toys, and done some research on the interactive system as thetheory sustain, as a result, the interactive toy design principle has been summarized ofcertain instruction and research significance for preschool children, for later practicalinvestigation.On the basis of early stage theoretical research, the fourth chapter has inquired intothe ideal interactive toy design direction for children, and also includes investigationand analysis of the matters to preschool child toy. Applied the interactive design to thedesign practice of children’s toys by the characteristics of preschool children, and itproves the theoretical results via design cases.The last chapter has summarized the research of interactive toy design for children,and given the prospect of horizontal expansion application and vertical in-depth study.The main theoretical result obtained in this study is the design principle of thefactors that affect interaction of preschool children with toys and preschool interactivetoy design. The main design result is innovative design of interactive preschool toys.
