The effects of pH on the properties of polyoxyethylene alkyl amine (AE18) and productsof ammonium(ZW136). the interaction of AE18, ZW136with methyl orange (MO) inaqueous solution and AE18with sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonat (LAS) were investigated bymeans of surface tension method and spectroscopy method. The effects of pH on the properties of change electrically of AE18were investigated bymeans the fluorescence probe of pyrene. On this basis, study on influence of the pH on thesurfactant in aqueous solution. on AE18in pyrene solution when the pH decreased from7.5to4.5, the fluorescence intensity increased slightly; this might be attributable to the largenumber of protons transforming the quinolinyl group into a quinolinium cation. Aggregationnumber of AE18at pH4.5. It was observed that the critical micelle concentrations (cmc) ofAE18respectively are155,89and5.6μmol/L at pH4.5,6.7and9.8. When the sameconcentration of MO with AE18in the above solutions, their cmcs are27,39and5.0μmol/L.Otherwise, the mixed solution of AE18and MO(C=0.2μmol/L) at pH4.5,6.7and9.8, theircmcs are35,40and4.9μmol/L. With addition of AE18in the MO(C=0.2μmol/L) solution, the maximum absorption wavelength of MO which respectively blue shifted50,38,32nm atpH4.5,6.7and9.8.The properties of products of ammonium(ZW136) and the interaction of ZW136withmethyl orange (MO) in aqueous solution were investigated by means of UV-vis spectroscopy, surface tension method. It was observed that the critical micelle concentrations (cmc) ofZW136is150μmol/L, Aggregation number are42.0; When the same concentration of MOwith ZW136in the above solutions, it cmc is16μmol/L. With addition of AE18in the MOsolution, the maximum absorption wavelength of MO which blue shifted38nm.The interaction between polyoxyethylene alkylamine (AE18) and sodium dodecylbenze-ne sulfonat (LAS) in aqueous solution have been investigated were measured by surfacetension measurement. it is also found that when the molar fraction of LAS in the mixture is0.1, the cmc of mixtures system is lower than that of either pure AE18or LAS surfactant. After comparing experimental cmc with the calculating cmc which is applied the theories ofClint, we found With the increase in molar fraction of AE18experimental cmc and calculatecmc results are similar.
