High yield Isoprene–maleic anhydride copolymer microsphereswas synthesized by precipitation polymerization. Influences of reactiontemperature, reaction time, initiator concentration, reaction medium, the selection of the mixed system, monomer concentration andtwo monomer ratio were investigated. The prepared single-dispersedmicrospheres’s particle size is from500nm to900nm. And the highestyield can reach to72%, the gel content was controlled by about97%.By the infraredspectral analysis, that is maleic anhydride-co-isoprene.In The system of maleic anhydride microspheres fillednylon6, influences of different particlesize, the content of microsphereson the properties (including the morphology, mechanical properties, etc)were investigated. The microspheres was coated by octadecylamine,GMA-E, Low molecular weight polyamide. the low molecular weightpolyamide system was be focused. It was be found that theoptimumparticle size of the blends system is in nanometer size, not intoo large size(micron), otherwise it’s mechanical properties woulddegradation. And addition amount of the microspheres can not be toomuch (more than5%of the system), otherwise it would causehydrolysis. In summary the modification effect of low molecular weightpolyamide was better compared with octadecylamine andGMA-Ebriefly describes the preparation of maleic anhydride(MAH)-CO-vinyl acetate (VAC) crosslinking microspheres using precipitation method, and the microsphere diameter is about150nmapproximately. The copolymer microspheres are added to the polyamide6(PA6)/linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) system. Afterextrusion, injection processes, test of mechanical properties, thermalproperties, crystallization behavior, morphology and so on are done toresearch compatibility of the blending system. It’s found that when thiscopolymer microspheres content is about10%, it make the two-phase toachieve compatibility in macroscopic scope through adding microspheres. The performance improved significantly: The size of spherical PEdispersed phase in blending system Change to1μm from4μm, andpercentage of the dispersed phase size in0.2-0.5μm increase greatly.Impact strength is1.35times by pure PA6, while the tensile strengthdecrease Indistinctly; Through infrared spectroscopy, Molau, DSCcooling crystallization and DMA tset, it’s Confirmed that thecompatibility of PA6and LLDPE two-phase is improved; Meanwhile thetoughening mechanism is discussed.
