Objective To analysis the effect of protection engineering for dust hazards in coalgangue and anthracite hybrid generating workplace. Methods Protection engineering for ndust hazards were analyzed by means of field investigation. The protection effect wasevaluated quantitatively by hazard monitoring before and after the engineering put intooperation. Results Engineering designs of vibration reduction a were effective.Concentrations of respirable dust and total dust in coal transportation system with dustremoval and obturation reduced by2.59and3.81mg/m~3respectively, but the design at thefine crusher and downstream belt joint did not achieve the desired effect. Silica dust hazardwas controlled effectively in main workshop by means of strengthened leakproofness butincontrollable at the ash-unloading equipment just with dust catcher beside the dischargeoutlet. Conclusion Only with consideration of factors such as production processes, hazardforming, characteristics and operation mode can appropriate protection engineering improvethe health of workers.
