The development of flotation for recovering fine-disseminated cassiterite and its collector is of vital importance for the effective utilization of the cassiterite resources in China. Collecting property of chelating collector in cassiterite flotation was reported in many literature, but its high-usage and high price lead to the high cassiterite processing costs. Therefore, in this paper, a new effective auxiliary collector was found to combine with chelating collector for the flotation of cassiterite, and the mechanism of combined collector was studied in aspects of spectra determination. The main work and results show as follows:The results of pure mineral flotation showed that the optimal pH values of cassiterite flotation were different with different collectors, calcite had a good floatability in aqueous alkaline medium, while the recovery of limonite was low; BHA showed much higher performance for cassiterite, compared with SPA and SHA, while using single collector; with the pH=8.3and the dosage of BHA at40mg/L, the recovery of cassiterite态calcite and limonite was79.92%,38.23%and19.27%respectively; while the recoveries of79.40%,35.74%and19.09%were obtained for the above three minerals,when the dosage at20mg/L of BHA and2.5mg/L of BYSN as combined collector.The interaction mechanism of combined collector with cassiterite was studies by means of surface tension and IR spectrum. It is showed that BYSN can make the surface tension of BHA solution decreased; Among BHA adsorption on the surface of cassiterite, chemical adsorption occurs firstly, physical adsorption is to come. While using combined collector, BHA molecules form monolayer-adsorption on the surface of cassiterite, and meanwhile BYSN molecules cover over it, forming laminated-coadsorption.Some experimental studies have been done on technological mineralogy in the actual ore test. It is shown that the content of Sn was0.55%, and the raw ore was finely disseminated tin-polymetallic sulfide ores in which50.60%of the tin particle size was less than0.075mm, and25.83%of the grain size was less than0.038mm. According to the ore, the structure of multi-product process, including concentration after grind finely-iron removal by magnetic separation-sulfur removal by flotation and floating tin from desulphurization tailings successively, were used in this study. After the closed circuit test of one roughing, one scavenging and four cleaning, a high-tin concentrate with grade40.15%and recovery65.07%was obtained using combined CMC and sodium silicate as depressant, and BHA and BYSN as combined collector.
