In China, accidents occurred frequently in small coal mine of different area due tobackward production equipment and nonstandard management. It causes disastrous losing fornation and people. In this thesis, the author designs one remote control system for miniatureshearer. This remote control shearer could be in place of people, so that there could be few ornone people working under the coal mine.The remote control mining system is combined of remote control shearer, monitoringcenter and wireless communication network. This thesis introduces design of shearer andwireless communication network detailedly.Based on function, the remote control shearer is divided into four parts: mechanical part,hydraulic part, control part and communication part. TMS320DM6446dual-core chip is usedas main controller in control system. Its DSP core has fast data calculation ability which couldbe used to do real-time image compression processing. The ARM core of TMS320DM6446could conduct every instruction sending from monitoring center correctly. In the imageacquisition circuit, TVP5150AM1video decoder chip is used as interface between cameraand TMS320DM6446. The gas concentration monitoring circuit uses bridge consisted ofcatalytic components and compensation components. EPEC control unit is used to control anddrive electro-hydraulic proportional valves in order to achieving remote control. The powersupply is designed according to the TI recommended circuit which could greatly improve thereliability of entire control system. The functions of ultrasonic ranging, temperaturemeasurement and some other sensors supply sufficient information for operators in themonitoring center.Aiming at the narrow space of small coal mine, the thesis sets up wirelesscommunication network based on ZigBee. The ZigBee network has many advantages such aslower power consumption and more strong reliability. Information could be transferred freelybetween shearer and monitoring center. In the thesis, a tree topology network is set upaccording to coal mine terrain in OPNET Modeler network simulation software and simulatedto obtain some statistical data for search.
