China mine tailings annual output of about300000000T, basically there areabout1500piles of tailings, the tailings, the normal operation of the library is less than70%. Aconsiderable number of library at risk, disease, extended service state, this is a huge potentialpitfalls, and even disaster. To the people’s lives and property and environment bring great loss.So, on the stability of tailing dam and the tailings dam safety management research is verynecessary. Taking the tailings as the research object, takes the theory study, numericalanalysis and calculation for the means, its stability was investigated, obtained the followingresults:(1) To cause the tailings dangerous harmful factors that influence analysis of tailing dam,failure mechanism for tailing dam seepage: row facilities were damaged or blocked, ore willcause the dam cracks, subsidence, gully or slumping; dam foundation, abutment has waterleakage in dam collapse, Taiwan shore, appear flow, debris flow; permeable dam seepagewater, stone masonry dam with cracks, leakage of water, affecting the stability of the dam;tailings of drainage structures, such as drainage well, culvert or chute discharge capacity isinsufficient, such as damage repair or fault leakage and downstream energy dissipationfacilities management; clarification distance and flood capacity inversely, flood regulationcapacity, clarify distance will decrease, conversely, clarify the farther the distance, floodregulation capacity will decrease, tailings reservoir flood waters in small, clarify the distanceis insufficient, dry beach distance is too short, run the RPS, flood and flood regulationcapacity is too small; if free drawing, can cause accumulation dam roll phenomenon, resultingin dam stability and earthquake capacity.(2) Proposed the theory and method of stability analysis of tailings dam, tailings tailingdam in eighteen River as an example, select the basic physical and mechanical parameters, thestability analysis, the analysis results are consistent with actual situation.(3) Using the fuzzy mathematical analysis method and principal component analysis ofthe tailings in recent six years the tailings management was evaluated by comparing the twomethods of analysis, results are basically the same. Then according to the characteristics oftailing reservoir in China and the existing problems, puts forward corresponding countermeasures against the tailing reservoir accident. As a result of tailing reservoiroperation and management is a complex systems engineering, only in gangue library design,construction, operation, close database and closed library then use the whole process, in strictcompliance with national laws and regulations and standards requirements of the work carriedout to effectively avoid the tailings dam accident.
