Coconut charcoal fiber is a kind of health fiber which is conducive to human health andis developed by coconut shell abandoned. Coconut charcoal fiber has good moisturepick-up and fast drying property, adsorption and deodorization property, emission ofnegative ions and far-infrared. The aim of this subject is to apply the coconut charcoal fiberto research and develop knitting product, thus to improve its added value and expand themarket to meet the growing demand for health textiles.In order to meet the market demand for health knitting product, make full use of wasteresources and promote the development of coconut charcoal fiber, this subject chosen18.46tex coconut charcoal fiber blended yarn (blend with50%coconut charcoalpolyester-based fiber and50%cotton fiber) as the research object, which is developed byNande Science&Technology Co., Ltd in Shanghai. Beginning with the basic performanceof coconut charcoal fiber and its blended yarn, morphology, composition, mechanicalproperties of coconut charcoal fiber were studied and analyzed, mechanical properties,yarn evenness, twist, hairiness, moisture content, acid resistance, alkali resistance, and heatresistance of coconut charcoal fiber blended yarn were tested.Based on the understanding of coconut charcoal fiber and its blended yarn, stitch andknitting process of coconut charcoal fiber knitted fabric were designed. Seven kinds ofknitting products were developed through knitting on STOLL CMS530HP computer fullyautomatic flat knitting machine. And their basic performance test results show that coconutcharcoal fiber blended yarn is suitable to develop knitted fabric.In order to facilitate subsequent bleaching and dyeing process go smoothly, coconutcharcoal fiber knitted fabric were scoured, the process is: NaOH4g/L, penetrating agentJFC5g/L, temperature95℃, time30min, liquor ratio1∶20. After scouring, using1g/Lacetic acid neutralize10min in80℃, then wash and dry. After this process, the whitenessof the knitted fabric is increased, absorbency is improved greatly, and bursting strength isdown slightly.Using hydrogen peroxide as the bleaching agent to research and analyze the bleachingproperty of coconut charcoal fiber knitted fabric. With whiteness and bursting strength asevaluation index, utilizing the single factor analytic method to analyze the quantity ofhydrogen peroxide, temperature, time and pH value. Then with orthogonal analytic methodto determine the optimal process for hydrogen peroxide bleaching: the quantity of hydrogen peroxide20mL/L, sodium carbonate3g/L,scouring agent2g/L, temperature90℃, pH value11, time70min, liquor ratio1∶20.Choosing disperse dyes and the reactive dyes to dye coconut charcoal fiber and cottonfiber respectively in double-bath dyeing process. With dye-uptake and K/S value asevaluation index, utilizing the single factor analytic method to analyze the quantity ofdyeing carrier, temperature, time and pH value. Then with orthogonal analytic method todetermine the optimal process for dyeing: Disperse blue2BLN dyes0.6%(o.w.f), quantityof dyeing carrier3.0%, temperature98℃, time80min,pH value5.5, liquor ratio1:50.And then cotton fibers are dyed by pre-alkaline dyeing method. Through severalexperiments we learned that when the quantity of reactive turquoise blue dyes was8%(o.w.f), the color deviation between the coconut charcoal fiber and cotton fiber is small andthe color is the same. And, color fastness testing results suggest that the fastness towashing, fastness to perspiration and fastness to crocking all meet the quality requirementof knitted fabric well.The durability, heat-moisture comfort, rigidity-flexibility, dimensional stability andfunctional property were tested, specifically includes bursting strength, air permeability,moisture permeability, heat retention, absorbency, rigidity-flexibility anti-pilling tendency,wrinkle resistance, draping property, deodorization property, emission of negative ions andfar-infrared. The results show that all the properties of coconut charcoal fiber knittedfabrics meet the wearability requirements of knitted fabric well and deodorization property,emission of negative ions and far-infrared have also reached the standard of health apparel,which is suitable for developing health knitting clothing.Grouped the seven coconut charcoal fiber knitted fabric according to different uses,then make the comprehensive evaluation to their wearability by fuzzy-integrativeevaluation method, and came to the merits of their wearability.
