With the increasing demand of non-standard automation equipment, its design putsforward higher and more rapid design requirements. In the design phase of the layout,structure, and operation of the equipment, the designers sometimes are difficult consideringcomprehensive factors, the error in the design and assembly defects were only found in theprocess of manufacture and use, this is bound to extend the development cycle and increaseddesign costs, reduce device performance and design quality.In this paper the crankshaft forgings conveyor line design of non-standard equipment, forexample, introducing advanced digital design virtual assembly technology. Virtual assemblytechnology can create three-dimensional digital model and use simulation system in the newproject, it can solve the problem of the bottleneck between product manufacturing and design,achieve parallelism engineering.First this paper carries out a mechanical design method of choice, compares thetop-down and bottom-up design methodology, based on the characteristics of the structuresand components of the conveyor line, decides to use a combination of both design method.Followed by the overall design, i.e. filtering input, output, site layout, tact and objectparameters, uses the black box method to initially construct the product model. Thenaccording to the product model of each component of the functional requirements, carries onthe detailed structure design. As the conveyor line contains more parts, this paper onlyconducts a detailed functional solving of several key equipments’ design. This paper selectssome parts for strength and rigidity checking in the realization of the principles of structureand function. Overall design and structure design virtual assembly is carried outsimultaneously, the establishment of a three-dimensional digital model to restore data moreintuitive than the two-dimensional drawings; Through inspecting the static and dynamicinterference of the assembly process and checking structural design size of the rationality,designers will be able to identify problems and timely rectification. By the assembly digitalsimulation, computer can simulate the actual transportation process of the cut material,intuitively display cutting material in between various components in action, and can test the rationality of the whole design process planning. The use of virtual assembly technology inthe design of crankshaft forgings conveyor line can timely find the existing problems indesign shorten the project design cycle and reduce the enterprise cost. The realization of theaction process simulation plays an important role in Control programming and follow-upwork. Research on new methods of mechanical design has important guiding significance tothe development of new equipment.
