Analysis On The Cutting Force And Power Of The Multifunction Cutting Plotter’s Cutter

Cutting plotter is widely used in the light industry enterprises. With the continuous development of related technologies, more and more people pay attention to the machine performance. The factors influencing the performance have transmission system, movement inertia, control mode and cutting, etc. In this paper cutter is as the research object. Some problems about cutting force are researched. This paper has mainly completed the following researching tasks:Firstly, based on analysis of the multi-function cutting plotter’s working principle and transmission system, the theoretical formulas of cutting width and cutting error are deduced under linear and circular arc cutting paths. And using mathematical analysis software MATLAB, the relationships between cutting depth, cutting speed, cutting radius, the blade geometry parameters and cutting width, cutting error are deeply discussed.Secondly, through analysis of cutting force, the relationships of the blade geometry parameters, cutting depth, cutting speed, cutting radius and the cutting force are established, and the theoretical formulas of the cutting force, cutting power are deduced. Using mathematical analysis software MATLAB, the relationships between cutting depth, cutting speed, cutting radius, the blade geometry parameters and the cutting force, cutting power are discussed.Finally, some experiments that used a cutter plotter cutting some cardboard are carried out. The data of the cutting power are record by a power monitor, and compared with the theoretical calculating value. The result shows the variation trends of cutting power are consistent with the conclusions done by MATLAB. That means the theory calculation formulas of the cutting power and cutting force are feasible.
