As the growth of the oil field exploitation, the quality of injection water is deteriorating.The scaling phenomenon in the gathering pipelines, oil wells and water injection wellsbecomes serious. Scale can cause corrosion. If the scaling and corrosion phenomenon isserious, the normal production of oil field will be influenced, and cause huge economic loss.The water forms of different oil fields are different. The single frequency electromagneticfields can not prevent scaling effectively in water treatment. Changed frequency anti-scalingtechnology can produce the electromagnetic fields which frequency can be changed in acertain range. This kind of anti-scaling technology is appropriate for different forms of water.It has a wide range of applications and a very good development prospect.In this paper, the composition of oil field water, the condition of the scaling in oil field,the scaling mechanism of oil field water, the chemical and physical anti-scaling method usedcommonly in oil field and the anti-scaling mechanism of changed frequency electromagneticfields are researched. An anti-scaling instrument that generates single frequency square wavesignal and swept-frequency square wave signal is designed based on the research of theory.The frequency of signal can be changed from200Hz to20KHz. Two experiments areconducted with the anti-scaling instrument. One of the two experiments is about theexploration of the instrument’s anti-scaling effect. The other one is about the exploration thathow the time’s length of electromagnetic fields action affects the anti-scaling effect. And thecalcium carbonate scale is scanned with Atomic Force Microscope. The results ofexperiments indicate that the anti-scaling instrument effectively reduces scaling, and thetime’s length of electromagnetic fields action certainly affects the anti-scaling effect; the grainsize of calcium carbonate crystal affected by electromagnetic fields becomes bigger than thecalcium carbonate crystal without the effect of electromagnetic fields. This result accords withthe anti-scaling mechanism.
