Clean gas fire extinguishing system with little greenhouse effect and low toxicity cannot pollute protected object and destroy the ozone layer, so it is a kind of good alternative to Halon gas fire extinguishing system. The most typical representatives are Trifluoromethane, Heptafluoropropane, IG541 extinguishing system and so on. Currently, IG541 and Heptafluoropropane extinguishing systems already have state-level design norms and design softwares. However, due to the special nature of Trifluoromethane extinguishing system and expensive experiment, national norm has still not formed. CFD theory can directly reflect the fluid flow, which provides a new research way for Trifluoromethane fire extinguishing system. The paper focuses on CFD research of Trifluoromethane extinguishing system,meanwhile a comprehensive analysis of the application of theory in the clean gas fire extinguishing systems has also been researched.This paper described in detail CFD and the commercial software FLUENT. Meanwhile the paper has done a comparative analysis between Trifluoromethane fire extinguishing system and the other two systems on their nature and characteristics, and then, the paper clarife d the early warning mechanism and design step of Trifluoromethane fire extinguishing system, finally, made its evaluation. The already existing local norms of Trifluoromethane fire extinguishing system were summarized, the paper analyzed its theoretical basis, and compared the formulas in the norms, ultimately two important questions influencing the development of Trifluoromethane fire extinguishing system norm appeared:the Trifluoromethane state in the network; Trifluoromethane diameter formula. On the basis of the existing experimental analysis, the CFD model was established. Using the model to make a research on the two questions, the paper obtained the corresponding results finally. The results of the research has a certain significance to promote Trifluoromethane fire extinguishing system norm, on the basis, the paper further explored how to make Trifluoromethane fire extinguishing system design software.In this paper, after the completion of these tasks,the paper continued to make the research of the CFD in the clean gas fire extinguishing system on other application fields, including use CFD theory to optimize the design of the nozzle; the smoke spread law in the fire; the delay spraying time of gas fire extinguishing system etc. Through the research, the paper promotes the integration of CFD theory and clean gas fire extinguishing system design.
